The Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has officially invited online applications for the post of Sub-Inspector (Telecommunication) in the Home Department of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. A total of 83 posts have been referred to JKSSB by the Home Department for direct recruitment. These positions belong to the UT Cadre, meaning candidates from anywhere in Jammu & Kashmir (holding a valid domicile certificate) can apply.
Application Dates

- Last Date to Apply: 13 January 2026
Interested candidates are advised to apply well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues.
Only candidates who are domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir are eligible.
A valid domicile certificate must be issued on or before the last date of application (13 January 2026).
JKSSB SI Telecom Age Limit (as of 01 January 2025)
The age criteria vary slightly depending on the category. Here is the allowable age range:

JKSSB SI Telecom Selection Process
The recruitment process consists of three major stages, followed by a medical examination:
1. Written Examination
- Objective-type exam with Multiple Choice Questions.
- Medium of exam: English only.
- Negative marking: ¼ mark will be deducted for every wrong response.
Bonus marks for NCC candidates:
- NCC ‘C’ Certificate – 5% of maximum marks
- NCC ‘B’ Certificate – 3%
- NCC ‘A’ Certificate – 2%
2. Physical Standard Test (PST)
Candidates who qualify the written exam (shortlisted at 6x category-wise vacancies) must meet the following physical standards:
For Male Candidates
- Height: 5’6”
- Chest: 32” (unexpanded) / 33.5” (expanded)
For Female Candidates
- Height: 5’2”
Relaxation:
Candidates belonging to the Gorkha Community or the Bot Tribe will get a height relaxation of 2 inches.
3. Physical Endurance Test (PET)
Only candidates who clear PST will be tested further:
For Males
- Long Race: 1600 meters in 6.5 minutes
- Push-ups: 20 cycles
For Females
- Long Race: 1000 meters in 6.5 minutes
- Shot Put (4 kg): 14.5 feet, 3 attempts

Ex-servicemen will have relaxed PET standards depending on age:

To apply for Sub-Inspector (Telecommunication), candidates must possess a 4-year degree (B.E/B.Tech) in any of the following fields:
